‘Captain America: Brave New World’ First Reactions: “Gritty, Intense”, “Great Action”, “A Blast”

Marvel returns to the big screen with Captain America: Brave New World after taking a 7 month break after lighting the Box Office on fire last year with Deadpool and Wolverine. The film finally cements Sam Wilson as our new Captain America are Steve Rogers handed him the shield in Avengers: Endgame.

The film just had its World Premiere in Los Angeles tonight and was screened to pres around the world this morning. The first critic reactions to the film are now out and reception seems to be “very good” to “mixed bag”.

“Gritty, intense, and packed with Winter Soldier vibes”

“a Big Win for Marvel Studios!”

“Dynamic and Engaging”

“The MCU is getting back on track”

“Mixed Bag” but “Good Action”

“Refreshing and a blast to watch”

Overall seems to be a good action thriller film with big fiery action, intense political thriller vibes, but also some first act flaws

The overall critic consensus is that Sam Wilson’s first big screen outing as Captain America: Brave New World is a very enjoyable political action thriller , that is held back by some first act issues, but makes up for that with a fiery final act. It seems most critics agree it does recapture the tone of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, even if it’s not nearly as polished of a film.
